Chapter #5Beth fights Kaitlyn by: Raven Beth arrived home after a long day at school. Jake hadn't been there, which put a damper on her day, as well as the school bully, Jennifer, being up to her usual games with the other students. With that, and Veronica Only's "crusade" to recruit others to her "lifestyle", school was seemingly growing more and more like her city; and it seemed to become Jake and Beth's job to defend others from certain individuals. Jake's absence was weird, he wasn't one to miss school, and she hadn't even received a text message from him all day, even when she messaged him first. It was all very strange, and something didn't feel right to Beth. She decided to go check on her friend.
Beth drove over to the large mansion owned by her friend. It was a stark contrast between her and Jake's living conditions; he had this huge mansion with his father, she lived in a two bedroom apartment with her mother. Beth knocked, and Jake's butler, Bruce, answered the door. Beth smiled and gave him a hug, he was like an uncle to her. "Hey Bruce, is Jake okay?" Bruce sighed and shook his head. "I was just about to call you. He never made it back from patrol last night. I'm afraid something terrible might have happened." Beth bit her lip, worried about what could have become of Birdboy. There were so many villains in the city, any of them could have snatched him up. She decided to go home, put on her suit, and start the investigation.
...
Jake gasped for air as his head was finally allowed to escape the watery barrel. It would be one thing if he was being drowned in water; but Kaitlyn was forcing his head into a barrel of her own gnarly sweat. Jake coughed and sputtered as he was allowed to breathe. Kaitlyn spoke into his head again, tightening her hold on his hair. "Take off the mask, Birdboy." She ordered. Jake shook his head. "Never.. Especially not for you!" He retorted. Kaitlyn threw him to the ground and reattached his collar to his chain, keeping him held down in her dungeon. "Fine." She started. "I'll just have to come up with more creative ways to make you give in, Birdy. You're only making it worse on yourself..." Kaitlyn began to leave, shutting and locking the large dungeon door behind her. Jake didn't know how long he could hold out. He had to somehow get ahold of Beth, but Kaitlhn had stolen his communicator... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
