"There now," Tina said cheerfully. "Good as my word? Not painful at all?"
"No," Lisa said, sitting up in the chair. "But then, it helps that I had such a charming woman to help me through it all," the words slipped out of her mouth before she knew what she was saying. "Where did that come from? Is that...?"
"Part of the skills from the person renting your life," Tina said as she began to lay out a suit that looked very familiar. "And Mr. Landry is very specific when he does this, he wants to make sure that who ever is filling in for him is a constant charmer. Large parts of his life would fall apart if you weren't skilled at attracting, and handling beautiful women."
"So, what happens now?" Lisa asked.
"Now, Mr Landry," Tina said, helping Lisa up and out of the chair. "We get you up, dressed, and ready for your trip. You've already said your good byes to your family, and your personal secretary will be meeting you at the airport. Don't worry, we've arranged a car for you, and you'll have plenty of time on the drive there to review the file that we prepared. The file contains information about your family, co-workers, projects, mistresses, and several other miscellaneous details like the pin for your bank card."
"Mistresses? I see why you said I needed his skill with ladies," Lisa said as she stood up and began getting dressed. It should have felt odd, somehow, putting on boxers, but they fit comfortably as though she had purchased them herself. The same was true of her sensible shoes, and the crisp button down shirt, though putting the shirt on without a bra was certainly odd. "And people will really think that I'm him?"
"Of course Mr. Landry," Tina said, already working to get Lisa used to being addressed by her current identity's name. "That's where the magic comes in. As far as the world is concerned, you're Matt Landry, and he's Lisa Hale. Now, let me show you to the car that's waiting to take you to the airport."   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
