"So where are we supposed to go?" Rainbow Dash asked as she did her best to picture the kind of land they'd find.
"The Princess has provided coordinates." Twilight stated as she commenced to copy them down. "There are clear instructions for the ship to remain on their horizon, so as to maintain a contact position for us and also to avoid the rest of the crew getting involved in these early stages."
"Oh dear." Rarity groaned. "All the crew have to be kept in the dark?" Twilight nodded at this.
"Princess Celestia isn't too sure how well the Filliputians or Colteskians will respond, so She'd like to keep these facts to a minimum."
"Well," Fluttershy mused, "If I found that Equestria was suddenly visited by giant ponies from ancient legends I'd certainly be grateful to the giants' monarch if she wanted to avoid any one of them just tredding all over our homeland." Applejack shuddered at this.
"Don't bear thinkin' about." She said.

"You're sure of this?" The captain asked as Twilight delivered her copy of the coordinates.
"That's the position Princess Celestia's provided." The captain glanced at the map.
"I don't know what this means," He commented, "That's always been known to sailors as the Oval of Clashing Rocks. It's been said that no Equestrian vessel can traverse through its channels."
"Which is why you'll have to drop anchor only just in sight of them." Twilight improvised. "My friends and I shall investigate by rowing boat." He gave her a glance that was both dubious and concerned.
"And if you don't make it back?" Twilight paused and then smiled.
"Well, two of my friends are pegasi." She pointed out. "And if we're not back within the longest amount of time you're able to wait, you'd best head back and send this message to the Princess." Twilight quickly scratched out a notification.
Dear Princess Celestia, It read, If you receive this then we've been unable to return to the ship during its endurance. Please don't be too keen to give us up for dead; if you can perhaps you could send another party both to carry out a search and to reinforce our original goal. I hope to see you again before Hearth's Warming. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. With that she sealed it and gave it to the captain with another note reminding him of the conditions required for the letter to be sent.

The days rolled by. Occasionally a sea serpent came up and provided a little excitement for the crew until one of the Mane six was able to determine why they visited, indeed a couple managed to help with way-finding. Rarity strained against the rough conditions on board and Pinkie Pie was routinely held back from partying without sufficient reason in the eyes of the others.
About ten days or a fortnight after opening Celestia's instructions...
