Chapter #3Ambushed by the Konohamaru Corps plus Hanabi Hyuga by: FireDragon14   He paused for a moment. His overly paranoid senses kicking in and alerting him to the fact that he was being followed. Continuing on he took a turn around a nearby corner and quickly made a shadow clone while using the Transformation jutsu to disguise himself as an old man with a wooden cane. Waiting for his pursuer to turn the corner he felt his apprehension dissolve upon seeing the familiar rectangular box with cut out eyeholes and a rocklike pattern for camouflage. 'There’s only one group of kids I know of that would use such an obvious disguise.’ The blond thought.
Despite the eyeholes, the box still bumped into him. From the whispers he heard just before the box bumped him, Naruto could tell that they had been arguing about something rather than paying attention to where they were going. Raising his cane he gave the box a few taps, "Correct me if I'm wrong children but, I'm pretty sure that rocks aren't square shaped nor do they have eyeholes." Mentally Naruto smirked as he played the part of an old man.
The reaction he got was expected so he wasn't surprised in the slightest when an explosion of colored smoke came from the box. He also wasn't surprised to find the kids coughing and mutters of 'too much gunpowder' coming from them. Naruto was surprised however to see not three but, four kids on the ground coughing. He quickly snapped out of it however when Konohamaru jumped up and started speaking. "Hey Old Man, why'd you go and blow our cover like that? How are we suppose to surprise the Boss if someone goes and blows our cover like that?!?" Naruto merely shook his head, "Boy, your Boss would have to be blind to not notice a rock with perfect angles and eyeholes following him."
"I told you it wouldn't work Kono-kun but, you didn't want to listen." Naruto's eyes quickly shot to the new member of Konohamaru's little group. 'Hmm, she looks a lot like Hinata.' And indeed the little girl did look a lot like the shy Hyuga heiress. The girl had long dark brown hair and her bangs were parted so only a single lock of hair fell in front of her face. Most noticeably however, was that she had large, white eyes that held a hint of lilac in them. A sleeveless, purple v-neck shirt, with mesh armor underneath, shorts of the same purple color and ninja-blue sandals. "Don't be like that Hanabi-chan. Besides, Boss never noticed we were here." The boy was clearly ignored by the girl who was instead looking at Naruto as if she was confused as to why she was seeing some old man in front of them. The old man in question simply raised an eyebrow as Hanabi seemed to suddenly realize something. "You’re wrong Kono-kun because Naruto is right here."
Seeing the confused looks on the other kids faces Naruto decided that he had messed with them enough; for now at least. A small bang and a good bit of smoke later reviled Naruto, grin and all. "You noticed rather quickly. Mind if I ask though, are you by chance related to Hinata? And I don't just mean as a Hyuga." The little girl grinned at that before proudly proclaiming, "She's my big sister." Naruto found it kind of cute how she spoke like it was the greatest thing in the world to be Hinata's little sister. And who knows, maybe it was. Hinata was a great person after all.
"Hey Boss will you play ninja with us?" Naruto paused a moment considering the idea. "Play what?" Konohamaru was quick to try and answer. "How about ninja Ta..." "Let's play Missing Nin!" Everyone looked at Moegi surprised that she had just cut in like that. "Missing Nin huh?" Naruto looked over the four. Moegi looked pleased with the suggestion where as Konohamaru seemed willing to play if only just. Udon as usual was neutral about either choice and the newest member of this marry band of trouble makers seemed curious.
Missing Nin was a game that Naruto had come up with that pits the more experienced player (himself) vs. the less experienced. The goal of the game was to capture the Missing Nin before the time-limit expired. Its main purpose was to teach the kids how to capture a fleeing target while avoiding traps left by said target. Naruto was normally more than willing to play this game but, with how things have been recently he wasn't too sure he wanted to risk anything by getting caught in traps. Then again, it's not like these kids would really try something while he was caught and vulnerable, right? So deep in thought he was, that he completely missed the looks of hunger that passed through the girls’ eyes, nor did he notice how they glanced at each other as if they were having a private conversation.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
