Chapter #3

A divorced father...

by: Mr. George Author IconMail Icon
Jim Adams was a timid man, who'd witnessed the crime. He probably wouldn't have reported the crime, if the police hadn't found him near the scene of the crime. Though clearly not the suspect he blabbed as much as he could, as quickly as he could to get on his way.

Unfortunately for him, Jim was the only witness to the 'exchange'. The suspect having slipped the leash of his tail, and the victim not being known... before the fatal assault.

He was flabbergasted, as he was hustled from the scene, without being allowed to go home. In the back of the patrol car, his home life, was quickly captured. His importance laid out crystal clear and the responsibility he bore for putting this significant figure away. His influence even within the police, and his immorality in silencing sources... and witnesses was enough to set Jim sinking deeper into the seat. Furtively looking in the flashing red and blue shadows for any dangers.

His affidavit was taken at the station witnessed and countersigned. As Jim burbled questions about anonymity, and returning to a quiet life again. He was sped away to a secure location.

Even he was surprised when he had to change cars twice, before finding himself at an high tech industrial estate. The security looked impressive, and surely enough to deter even 'Dave Edwards' from pursuing him.

As he was led inside, he saw the industrial estate wasn't going to serve as his safe house. The scientist there, an Officer Olsen looked quietly confident and proficient. It was then that the plan was outlined to hide Jim in another body until the trial was called and he could confirm he was the witness who saw everything and wrote the affidavit.
