This choice: that her basketball team could use a new ball  •  Go Back...
Chapter #6

that her basketball team could use a new ball

    by: Unknown
"Wait, really? You want me to be a ball for your team?" you stop dribbling yourself.

"Yeah, it'd be a good luck sort of thing. Come on, you wouldn't want us to lose, would you?" she tries to guilt you.

It actually doesn't sound too bad, you think. "Sure, why not" you say, tossing your head to her. She catches you and begins to dribble you.
"This is gonna be so sweet" she says. She then leans over to pat your body on your neck as thanks. As her hand hits down, you suddenly lose feeling in your body.
"Oh shit, I can't feel my body anymore!" you call out, "Can you catch it?"

"Why would I catch it?" she looks down at you.

"Because its going to fall over?" you ask, now puzzled.

She spins you around to see your body still standing. Seemingly moving around all on its own. "Oh, now this is new" you say watching your headless self.
"Wait, is your body not you now?" she asks.
"I don't know, its moving all on its own"
"Sweet, now I have two brothers!" Without paying anymore mind to your body, she carries you out. She tosses you in her duffel bag and zips it up. You hear her call out to your mom she was leaving to practice before the game, before setting off on a somewhat bumpy ride.

It comes to a close as she unzips the bag and pulls you out, "See, told ya" she announced proudly.
Her whole basketball team stood before, jaws to the floor.
"Wow, she wasn't lying"
"He's really headless"
"No stupid, he is a head, not headless"
You listen to their uptick in chatter.

"Alright everyone, shut it, if we want to win tonight we need to practice" your sister shouts. They all hustle into the gym.
You were a little worried at first, but being dribbled, thrown, caught and so on actually aren't so bad. You end up having fun as the ball. You enjoy making the team laugh with cheesy comments as you fall through the net or are missed.

After a whole afternoon of practice its game-time. You sit on the bench waiting to find out if you'll actually be the ball with the rest of the team. Jenna then runs back, "We got the okay, guys! He's the ball"
They give a little cheer. You wonder how that conversation must've gone with the refs..
Hey, so my brother decapitated himself and now his head is bouncy, can we use him as a ball?

As the game is getting started you two see your parents in the crowd, who seem to be accompanied by your headless body. It was cheering you guys on. You both laugh as the game begins.
It goes on rather intense. For you it was just about the same as practice. You try to talk to the opposing team to slip them up. You hear things like "Oh my god, its a head!" and "Its talking to me", all of which just amuse you.

You watch as the score stays close most the game. Neck and neck one might say.

Then with the final point, Jenna's team wins!
As part of winning...
