…lying there, you put your head down on the pillow. Taking a breath, it felt like you took half of a breath, you looked up at the ceiling. Waiting for your mom and dad to wake up you realize you were nervous at how they would react. Would they freak out? Would they think nothing of it? You patiently waited. As you waited, you realized that your breath and your father’s breath were not synchronized. As you breathed out you felt your father breath in. Taking the opportunity you tried to breathe with your dad’s breath.
At first, it was hard for you to breathe with your dad. But after a couple of moments you were able to match his at rest breathing. A moment later it seemed like you two were breathing together easily, as if you two were doing that for your entire lives.
Seconds later, you feel your mom roll over and lay her head on your shared chest and sigh. “Good morning sweeties,” she said sleepily.
“Good morning,” said your dad, opening his eyes with a smile.
Not knowing what else to do you nervously say “Good Morning, Mom…. I mean, Lizzie.”
