“…Sullivan family,” he said. A name which you of course recognized immediately. If it was indeed who you were thinking it was.

Which it very much turned out to be. Kerry explaining that James, Angela, Shawna and Rhett were the four people who’d been inside the car and were seemingly now recovering. Not knowing the other three admittedly (though you assumed they were her parents and a sibling) but Shawna Sullivan was in your year at school, and best friends with your girlfriend, Allison. Short and petite with dark red hair and freckles, along with a very large and prominent chest. Which was definitely her most defining attribute. And, in your opinion, what had turned her into the vain, self entitled person that she was. Or at least that was how she came across to you. Being the exact opposite of Allison, who was sweet and friendly. Shawna instead being much more concerned with her looks and who it was she hung around with. Getting the impression that she didn't really like you all that much and thought that her friend was far too good to be going out with the likes of you. Forever turning up her nose, rolling her eyes, or tutting whenever you were near. Which was why, despite how close the two of them were, you really didn't have much to do with her at all. Having long ago given up trying to be friendly.

This being the reason that you were more than a little unsure of how to feel about this news. Concern and relief certainly. Though for Allison more than for her. Seeing how she would be absolutely devastated if her best friend had either died or been seriously injured. But... there was also a teeny tiny bit of annoyance as well. That this hadn't happened to her. A little voice inside your head telling you, At least it would have gotten her off of our back. No more judging and scowling at me all the time. Though this was just a fleeting thought. Not wishing harm on anyone. Especially not when her family was also involved.

"So you do know them?" Kerry asked on seeing your reaction.

"Kinda, yeah. I know Shawna. She's friends with my girlfriend," you told him.

To which he gave an odd, surprised and almost worried sounding reply. "...Oh. Oh, really?"

Nodding, "Yeah." Though at the the same time wondering what exactly this reaction was about.

A reaction that continued as he looked slightly nervous again and chuckled, "Well isn't that something. Who'd... Who'd have thought it?" Turning to look at Saunders, who still said nothing, but looked a little suspicious himself. Before Kerry hastily changed the subject. Assuring you, "Well she's... She's perfectly fine, as I said. They all are. Just a few scrapes, bumps and bruises. Nothing to worry about at all."

“Okay then. That’s good to hear. So, uhm… Can I like see my family now or what?” you asked. Feeling like this was a lot more pertinent right now than hearing about someone else's.

His response to which was, “Of course. They’re all anxious to see you.”

And you them. Feeling a huge sense of relief that they were all okay and had made it out of the crash unharmed. Way more than you were Shawna and her family. Figuring that they could all worry about themselves.
