Late To The Party...

Lilith quickly got to her feet as the frigid zombie flailed its arms at her. "I don't know what the hell you are, but you aren't gonna kill me!" she shouted as she launched another punch into the Chiller's jaw, knocking even more teeth out. "Not making much progress like this..." she panted as the monster simply recovered its balance and made another swing for her.

Then her eyes fell on her switchblade, which was still jammed deep inside the creature's rib cage. "There we go." she said confidently as she charged the zombie and tackled him to the ground. Before he could react Lilly pulled the tiny blade free and jammed it into the boy's eye socket.

After choking out a few groaning noises the body fell silent and didn't move. "There, Jesus. What the hell happened to you?" Lilith asked as she pulled the switchblade free again and felt a cold shiver run through her body. In all the excitement she hadn't noticed how cold she felt all of a sudden, but now that her life wasn't in danger the chilly air surrounding her felt like it was blowing through her entire body.

"Ah fuck, why did it get so damn cold all of a sudden?" she whispered as she began to shiver. She looked down at the frozen corpse and then to her switchblade, which had a fresh layer of red tinted frost on it. "Did this thing sap the warmth from me or something?" Lilith wondered as she headed back to her motel room to think and warm up.

Upon returning to her room she felt the coldness around her slowly fade away as she sat down on the crappy motel couch and flicked on the tv to see if the news had anything to say about whatever the hell was going on. Unfortunately, the only thing that appeared on the screen was a haze of static. With a scowl Lilith turned off the useless hunk of garbage and opened up another beer.

"What the hell am I gonna do?" she wondered as she looked out the small motel window at the silent snowy town outside.
