Daniel thought pretty hard about why this happened as he stares in the blank expression of the pokegirl he summoned into reality. He checked her pulse multiple times to see that she has one, but her eyes are so blank as if she is under the deepest of trances.
He reads the book to check if something went wrong. Did he make a mistake to make May into a life sized doll of flesh and blood? After reading the book he came across an important footnote. Summoning characters who are meant to be avatars like the playable game version of May are without souls or minds unless given to them prior to summoning. Meaning he can program them anyway he wants to. However, while he can program them if they are summoned it takes five minutes with the finger on the summoned's head.
Daniel allowed that to sit on his brain for a while. I should have read this better. he mentally groans. But on the other hand, this is not the worst thing possible. He can always send her back and summon her again with a mind and soul of his own design.
