-In the yard nextdoor
The kid neighbor next-door was playing alone in his back yard. Joey had friends, it was just too late in the day to play with them, and everyone seemed too busy to come over. The boy stood on his cement porch, bouncing a small rubber ball to pass the time.
"Soooo boooored" Joey whined to himself.
Suddenly, the ball accidentally hit the side of his house after a hard throw. Joey watched as his ball bounced from the wall, into the yard.
“awhh, maaaaan” he sighed.
Stepping off his porch, he began his mini expedition to find where the ball had landed within the medium-sized yard. Fortunately, It didn't take long before he spotted it, nestled in the grass only a few feet away. After reaching down and picking it up, something else caught his attention. In the corner of his yard, he noticed something weird. It was like something was floating off of the ground, like a frisbi, only a little bit larger.
Tempted by curiosity, the boy began to venture towards it. He stopped a few feet away, just to be safe. He realized it was perfectly flat; Almost like a mirror, only it wasn't reflecting anything. Pushing aside his fears, he took a few steps closer until he stood right next to it. It was floating about a foot off the ground, a little lower than his knees.
Joey stared down curiously into the strange image within the circle.
“What…is this thing…?” the boy thought to himself with confusion.
Slowly, he lowered himself to the ground, sitting on his knees in order to get a closer inspection. As he brought his face right next to the flat surface, his eyes suddenly grew wide with amazement.
It was like a weird metal bowl inside. Even more shocking was that he could see what looked like a man. It seemed like the man couldn't see him, since he was facing what looked like a computer of some sort. The boy just continued to stare with his mouth slightly ajar. He couldn't make sense of what he was looking at. What was this thing? A floating tablet?
No longer able to contain his growing curiosity, Joey slowly lifted his hand, preparing to poke the surface. The boy gulped as he lowered his finger. To his amazement, it passed right through the surface. It was as if there wasn't a surface at all!!! It was like a hole in the middle of the air! He pulled his finger out for a moment, before poking it back in.
“Coooooool…” He muttered in amazement
Growing more curious by the moment, He then brought his attention back to the tiny man. Holding his breath, he brought his entire hand down into the hole.
“Woah..” Joey muttered as he compared the size of his hand to the man next to it.
“He’s so tiny…” The boy continued to just stare, thinking to himself quietly, his hand hanging motionless in he hole behind the man.
Suddenly snapping back to reality, Joey pulled out his hand and sat up straight. Cautiously, the boy turned his head, looking across his yard, as to see if anyone had been watching. He was still all alone in the fenced in yard. Turning his attention back to the hole, he stared blankly for a moment before a playful and sneaky expression formed on his face. He began to reach back in, only this time with a goal. He opened his hand wide as he reached for the tiny man.
