A few hours later

Larry cheering up with his time playing with his sister. Her father returning home later, Larry remaining to spend more time with her. Mr Foster shrugged saying he wouldn’t pay for overtime. Readily, Larry agreed to that. Playing a board game before putting her into bed when he found a strange tingling sensation running through his body. That is when his left left breast flattened out against his chest like a steamroller ran over it. Then his foot throbbed as he struggled to be free of the now too tight shoe. Flipping free of his shoe after a bit of effort. His sock tore open with his expanding foot. Larry’s eyes widening realizing that whatever magic changed him must be wearing off. “Emily I need to cut out.” Larry said.

“Okay, I love you. Better stuff your shirt.” Emily said. Her knowledge of the medallion helped her understand.

With a hug and a, “Love you too.” Larry snuck out after stuffing a couple of Emily’s shirts to replace his diminished breast.

Larry’s ex stepfather said laughing, “I think that you are stuffing them a little big aren’t you?” Larry blushing as he ran out hoping that his foot would escape notice. Out the door and into the street he could hear the seams ripping as he grew in size. Finding a park he called on the phone for rescue from a indecent exposure charge.

“I will be there shortly.” Tommy said after hearing the situation. Grabbing a towel and his keys he drove to the park. Finding Larry in the tattered remnants of his clothes. Tossing him the towel and averting his eyes.

Putting on the towel he headed to the car after grabbing up the fragments of his outfit. He didn’t like the idea of someone coming across torn woman’s clothes. That could start an unnecessary investigation. Tommy hurrying him along. They escaped without notice.

“The medallion gave out. I began transforming back. Don’t know if I will be using the medallion anytime soon.” Larry said.

“Except for Emily’s recital.” Tommy said.

“Shit that is right. Hope I don’t transform during that.” Larry said knowing that he couldn’t hurt Emily by not showing. “I will bring a backpack with a change of clothes.”

Unknown to either of them, Joe altered their minds that they forgot the medallion issues once they came home. Joe thought about other ways that he might create a copy of it. He needed to take it in to the lab and try and figure it out. With a greater understanding he might know how. It could wait till morning though he thought with a yawn.

Everyone slept late save Joe who hurried off with the medallion. In the lab he lay out the shapeshifting medallion he took a scalpel to scrape for metallic analysis. Drawing blade along the medallion triggering a reaction. A jolt of energy crossing through the medallion into himself. Collapsing to the floor writhing. The scalpel clanking down next to him. It began to move and shift on its own. The medallion giving it life and an impetus of its own. One of countless forms contained in the magical medallion.

The blade shifting as it lost its metallic texture. Softer the blade head twitching as ears grew from its sides. Beady eyes peering about for any perceived danger. Widening out with fur sprouting over the whole of its small body. Using its newly acquired feet scurrying across the floor seeking out shadowy shelter. The tiny rodent pausing to access dangers surrounding it.

Joe felt his body ache as never before. The magic taking hold of him he attempted to call his roommates for help.
