As James was about to attempt break away from her grasp, he felt a sudden wave of emotion in his head. He looked up to the young woman again, she was very... pretty and the way she talked to him made him feel safe. Although, he did not realize his mind was slowly regressing to match his new age. James felt like he had to tell the woman the truth...sort of.
"She's not here... I'm all alone." As James said this he began to blubber and tears began to well up his eyes. The thought of being alone without the supervision of a family member was becoming terrifying to him.
Seeing this, the woman knelt down to comfort you, "Don't worry. It will be okay. Do you know were your mommy is? Can contact her?" She took James' hand and began to pet his in an effort calm him down.
"Uh-huh, I can call her so she can pick me up." James began to take out his phone to dial her.
The woman sighed with relief, "That's good. Do you want me to stay with you until she gets here?"
James nodded softly nodded as he listened to the phone ring, calming down at the proposition. And then his Mom answered the phone.
"Hello James, where are you young man, Mommy was so worried. A boy your age shouldn't be out alone." His mom sounded somewhat out of breath as if she had been hastily looking for him up until then.
James was relieved to here his mother's voice, partly because she seemed to have had her memories altered to think he was seven but mostly cause he missed her and he was scared. "I'm sorry, Mommy. I'm at the mall and I need to be picked up."
"The Mall!? How did you get all the way there?"
James was so confused by the swap and changes that he couldn't remember. "I-I don't know! Mommy please come pick me up."
"Ok, Honey. Mommy will be right over." She responded in a reassuring tone.
She arrived in a couple minutes and after the both James and his mom thanked the nice lady, they headed back home.
After they got home, Mom instructed Audrey to look after you while she headed back out for groceries.
