You wandered around the ruins, using Flash every so often to illuminate the dark hallways. Usually human ruins were small and picked to the bone over the years, but this one seemed rather expansive. All the entrances were sealed when you found these ruins, and had to be cracked open, so you were sure you were the first living being to set foot in these ruins for hundreds of years. How exciting! You were sure to find at least one artifact!
You eventually reached a large underground room, dirt crumbling in from cracks in the ceiling. Dotting the room were big metal contraptions that used to be referred to as ‘machinery’. These machines were all old and crumbling, now, and overgrown with vines. You kicked one of the machines in disappointment. This room seemed to be a dead end, and there weren’t any artifacts to be found! You had wasted your time! Then you finally noticed, hidden away in a drawer, a shimmer of light. You cock your head in curiosity and excitement as you approached it, pulling the drawer open to find… an artifact!
It was a small portable mirror, with an ornate golden frame, hundreds of years old and yet seemingly still in mint condition. You blew the dust off the front of the mirror, analyzing it. Looking into the mirror gave you an strange, unpleasant feeling, but you shrugged it off. You had found an artifact! And it looked valuable! Now all you have to do is figure out what it does...

Far behind you, shrouded in the darkness of the temple, two large, glowing red eyes lie silently, watching you. Creeping through the shadows was a long, predatory Serperior, licking her lips at the sight of the Absol in front of her. Her body was covered in scars from battling with previous prey over the years, and her stomach still bulged out slightly with what remained of the Mareep she had for breakfast that morning.
“So young… so naïve… this is going to be an easy meal,” she mused to herself, silently slithering closer and closer to you. Eventually, while you were distracted with your newfound artifact, she managed to creep up right behind you, and was rearing up to strike.
