Magic Ban Lifted?

    by: Jeary Author IconMail Icon
Your father and you arrive at the council meeting. All of the other members were there awaiting for your father to take his place at the table. You knew from various experience in the past that no one in the council chamber may sit before your father, it was one of the most important laws in Gimunga. Your father began walking towards his chair and then promptly sat. The Rest of the council including you then followed.

"When you are ready speak your concerns, and then we will discuss them." Your father said. All council members were here for this meeting which was an unusual thing, usually there was one who was doing some other task that was needed.

" First order of business, our trade recently has hit a setback and most of the people who I govern haven't been able to pay there required taxes, do you have any suggestions?" An elderly giant asked. You remembered him from the first time you met him. He was about eighty five feet tall had gray hair and brown eyes. He was one of the most prominent nobles in Gimunga and had a good relationship with the giant commoners. He had the title of Lord, and his name is Adrian. Many people however addressed him as Lord Adrian out of respect, if anything were to happen to all members of the Royal Family you were sure he would take the throne.

"Taxes? Again I don't see why this is necessary if they can't pay the taxes you should just take there homes away it's that simple." Another giant responded to Lord Baron. You also recognized him, though your meetings with him were never pleasant. He was always lecturing other giants on how over the years of peace they have become too soft and gentle and need to harden there resolves. He stood about ninety five feet tall had light blond hair and blue eyes, with a very muscular build to him. This was no surprise as he was the Commander of the Army after all. His full name is Thane Ward. But many call him Commander Ward.

" This isn't a combat situation, If we don't solve this matter peacefully it could lead to revolts." A woman giant said. You recognized her as Lady Gemfire. She and her husband have been close to your family for years, and even more to the point she was also closer to your age compared to the rest of the council. Her bright red hair and green eyes sometimes were quite attractive to you. If it wasn't for the fact that she was already married, you might of thought about going out with her yourself. Within the council she was often the voice of reason despite her young age.

" I actually believe I have a solution to our trade problem that can help Lord Adrian out." Lady Gemfire said.

" Really? I would like to hear this solution." Lord Adrian said.

"What kind of Stupid solution have you got for us now Girl?" Commander Ward Asked in a harsh manner.

" Commander Ward you will treat Lady Gemfire with respect and call her by her title is that clear? " Your father spoke to Ward. Ward just scoffed it off and didn't make any response back. You knew from experience though that meant he was going to do as your father said despite his own reluctance.

" We'll if we left our magic ban and begin trading with human magicians. I believe our trade and gold would indeed improve." Lady Gemfire suggested. When you saw your father's face you knew what his decision would be in almost an instant, you knew that he would...
