Your heart sinks as Lucy and Sam return to the room, "Hey girls," Patty greeted. "Your favorite doll is all ready for playtime."
Lucy and Sam stood there one of them holding a yellow gown that made you sick, in this state, there was nothing to stop them from treating you exactly like a real doll. In fact, they'd probably forget you were their cousin and just put you away at the end of playtime like any other toy. "No," one of them finally said.
It was like your whole world brightened when you heard that, Patty, on the other hand, looked like summer vacation was canceled, "no?" Patty repeated.
"Jilly's not our dolly," the other twin who was holding the gown spoke.
"She is our cousin," her twin added.
Never, had you ever thought you would be looking at the twins as though they were your saviors. "B-but," Patty stammered, "you two love playing with Jill like she's your doll."
"Not anymore," the gown twin said, "me and Lucy got hurt by some bigger kids."
"They push us around," Lucy added, "and said we were so small we were just toys to them."
"That was when Lucy and me realized that we always did that to Jilly," Sam explained.
You felt sorry the twins had to go through that but glad they'd learned a lesson. "But," Patty struggled, "you said you had an outfit for her."
"We just thought she'd look pretty in it," Sam clarified as she held out the dress, now that you could see it you noticed it was a lot less frilly and babyish than what the girls would usually put you. The dress was modeled after Belle's ball gown from Beauty in the Beast, and you knew the girls loved that movie, in fact, they'd often argue over that dress.
"We wanted to invite her to our tea party," Lucy added.
"And thought maybe she could play with us after," Sam paused nervously before adding, "if she wanted to."
"Now make Jilly move," Lucy demanded, "or we'll call your mommy!"
"We have her on speed dial," Sam added.
