Avoni sighed as she approached the door, deciding not to summon one of her ancestors for help. She was much better at stealth than she was at combat, the latter being her only option if she used a summoned being's help. Besides, the only ghost she could ever seem to summon was that of her ancestor Lilethys, who had been getting very impatient with her lately...
Nope, she decided, it wasn't worth it. Casting only a quick detect life spell to help her out, the Dunmer girl approached the door alone and gives it a tug, feeling it pull open with a heavy creak.
Flinching at the noise, Avoni crept into the tomb and pulled the door shut behind her, crouching down and assuming her sneaking form in the dark, barely-lit hallway. All at once, the musty, damp air of the familial resting place filled her lungs. Although the characteristic thick air of these tombs once made Avoni cough, years of dungeon crawling had so accustomed her to such things that she barely noticed it anymore.
Besides, coughing was absolutely out of the question.
Creeping down the stairs, Avoni hugged close to the wall as her little feet slowly carried her downward, making no audible sounds as she descended. The air slowly began to cool as her altitude decreased, slowly traveling down the narrow stairwell towards the tight turn in the corridor up ahead.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Avoni stopped for a moment. In front of her was sharp turn, beyond the corner of which she couldn't see. Judging by feeling her detect life spell was giving her, Avoni could tell that there was a small chamber just around the bend, with something standing there, unmoving. However, she couldn't tell what it was. Clutching her dagger in hand, and preparing herself for a sneak attack, Avoni slowly leaned in to the corner and peeked...
