You caught a look at yourself in a small mirror and found that your hair had somehow grown over an inch passed your shoulders. What was more shocking, it had turned a more honey blond color like your mom and sisters. "This is insane!" Whispering, you said. "How did this happen?!"
"We all have bad hair days, miss." Smiling, the saleslady said. "There is a wonderful salon here in the mall I can recommend; I go there every week to get my hair done." She motioned to a salon across the hall from her store. "We girls deserve to pamper ourselves every now and then."
You gave a nervous giggle only to pause. "Did I just giggle?"
The saleslady offered you a number of moisturizer samples, which you tried to humor her then purchased one along with a perfume you knew Mel would appreciate. The saleslady offered you a coupon for half off on a haircut and style. You sighed as she then hit you with a perfume scent and offered you the discount she had mentioned. Not wanting to make a scene, you bought the perfume, thinking Hannah might like it then walked to the salon. "Just tell them Diana sent you and they'll take care of you."
"This is costing more than my trips to the arcade." Grumbling, you muttered. "Oh well. I need a haircut so why not?"
You entered the salon where you were met by one of the stylists. "Can I help you, miss?" Politely, she asked. "I could offer you a book of the many styles we offer."
You put on a patient smile, though you felt like screaming. "Diana sent me." Motioning to the scents and oils shop across the hall, you said. "She offered me a coupon for my purchases."
The stylist smiled. "Diana is one of our best customers." Kindly, she said. "She does not offer coupons here lightly." She giggled, looking at you. "I'm guessing you are a tomboy."
"Something like that." Uncomfortable, you replied. "I just need a haircut and style."
The stylist beamed at you, increasing your discomfort. "If you agree to let us use you as a before and after photo shoot, I can offer you the works for free."
You did not like the sound of that, especially not at a salon that specialized in serving female clients with beauty treatments. You were uncertain as everyone was calling you miss. Still, you did see a few male model pictures hanging on the wall so it was really a toss up.
