You take the book to your room, thinking it was a practical joke from one of your sisters. Only you placed a shirt over it to hide it as something in the back of your mind was warning you not to let anyone see you with it. You were so preoccupied with the book that you did not notice the strange little girl sitting on your bed until you turned around. You jumped upon taking notice, causing her to let out a low scream of fright.
"Who are you?" Unnerved, you demanded. "How did you get into my room?"
The girl looked at you as if she were stunned but looked down at herself and sighed. "I- I'm Christina." Timidly, she said. "I'm Harry's cousin from out of town. Please, John... I- I need your help."
"Harry didn't tell me he had a cousin coming for a visit." Raising an eyebrow, you said.
"It's sort of a surprise visit." Wincing, Christina said. "Harry was always telling me how he got into your room so I did it myself."
Seeing the scrapes on Christina's legs and arms, you knew she was telling the truth. Still, you were annoyed she had sneaked into your house and into your room. You sighed. "It's not safe for a girl as small as you to climb that tree." Scolding, you said. "Also, its very strange for a boy like me to have a little girl in his bedroom."
Christina began to tear up so you called for Hayley. When she entered your room, she looked at the little girl in surprise. "Who..."
"She says she's Harry's cousin." Annoyed, you said. "She climbed the tree to get in here. She said she needed my help but I don't know for what."
Hayley sighed, a bemused look on her face. "Come with me... Christina." Kindly, she said. "You should not be in a boy's room; we will talk, girl to girl."
Reluctantly, Christina nodded and slid off your bed. She allowed Hayley to take her hand and was led out of the room. After they were gone, you closed the door but paused as you turned around. You had spotted something lying on your bed. Upon closer inspection, you found it to be a pair of antique glasses.
"Harry's cousin must have dropped it when she slid off my bed." Muttering, you said.
You were going to give them back to her but something compelled you to try them on. Upon doing so, you saw the book you had found glowing slightly. Surprised, you took off the glasses and saw that the glow had vanished. Curious, you put the glasses back on and saw the book glowing again.
