This choice: Some other crew/colonist? • Go Back...Chapter #5Jess gets the fuck out of there by: Squashee   At the sight of the creature hanging from the ceiling above Billy, something inside Jess snapped, and she turned tail and ran back the way they had came.
A small part of her thought briefly of Billy, but she became convinced that he had to have been right behind her. After all, from the sound of the running footsteps, there was definitely something following fast behind her. She didn't risk looking though and just settled for yelling.
"Hurry Billy! That....thing...could be on us at anytime." Jess pushed a button on her sleeve and breathlessly screamed out an S.O.S. to the ship's crew. "Mayday, mayday, survey team has encountered a hostile. Repeat! We have encountered a hostile and are making a hasty return!"
The comm buzzed before a confused sounding Quin responded. "Jess, please repeat. What have you encountered?"
Jess, completely losing her cool, just screamed in response. "I don't fucking know but its FUCKING RIGHT BEHIND US!"
She rounded the corner and burst into the hanger, the ship directly in front of her. Salvation was in site. She ran up the plank and began frantically pushing the open button.
The door didn't budge.
"Come on, come on." Jess muttered and looked behind her. She finally realized, Billy was there, and from outside the hanger and down the hall, she could hear a sound that she wasn't going to soon forget...
Kissssshhhhhh...kiiiiiiisSSSSHHHH...KIISSSSHHHHH!"
She spun back around and banged on the door. "Please for the love of god, ITS COMING!" Something clicked on the other side and door flew up. Jess dived in, slapping the close button as she flew inside, and the door sealed behind her. Captain Quin and Custer helped her to her feet.
"Jess, what happened out there? Wheres Billy?"
"I don't know, that thing out there, may have gotten him. Why the hell did it take so long for you to open the damn door?"
Custer looked away awkwardly. Quin coughed and then looked her in the eye. "There was some concern from certain crew members about opening the door and possibly letting in the threat you described, but I wasn't about to risk losing you, or Billy, to hostile forces. Now. Tell me what happened?"  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
