This choice: Calisto grabs Edgeworth off the floor, hiding him away as she escapes. • Go Back... -A story route requested by another user-
Moving her hovering foot aside, Calisto looked on in amusement at the sight of the shrunken prosecutor on the floor with one arm raised pointlessly over his head as if to protect himself. He'd have been a bloody stain on the courthouse floor already if she hadn't just changed her mind.
She set her foot back on the floor, her heeled shoe thumping solidly beside the puny figure. Stooping toward him on one knee, she struggled not to laugh.
"All that stuffy confidence really just evaporated, didn't it, Edgeworth?"
On the floor, he lowered his arm slightly, warily looking up at her. She suddenly wondered how quiet his little voice would be if he said anything to her. Sadly, he still seemed too stunned to speak up for the moment.
"Well, count yourself lucky - I was just going to finish you off, but now I'm thinking you might be fun to have around for a while. Playing with a little shrimp like you should be a good time."
It looked like his expression changed, but his face was pretty small, so she couldn't be totally sure.
"Let's get out of here." she said, easily grabbing him off the floor. "You can tell me how much you like this idea later."
With little concern for his comfort, Calisto stuffed Edgeworth into one of the pockets on her coat, getting back to her feet. It was time to make an exit.
Had that idiot Badd really sent Edgeworth here to cover this exit by himself? She could barely believe it. The old man had to be seriously rattled.
Being carried helplessly away from the courthouse and anyone who could possibly help him was not doing anything to improve Edgeworth's mood.
Ms. Yew's motions were knocking him awkwardly to and fro inside the uncomfortable confines of her pocket, providing him with no opportunity to rest.
The gravity of this situation was finally beginning to set in now that he wasn't in immediate danger of death or listening to his captor mocking him. As utterly impossible as it seemed, he really had been reduced to a puny size, somewhere in the range of three inches tall, and Calisto Yew - or whatever her name really was, now that she claimed "Calisto Yew" was merely a pseudonym - had really abducted him from the courthouse, taking him away to who-knew-where.
A thought occurred to him, and with considerable difficulty, he worked his cell phone out of his pocket. He nearly dropped it when the world shifted quite suddenly around him, - had Yew just dropped into the seat of a car? - but he managed to bring the phone up to his view.
He cursed; the signal was completely dead. Had being reduced in size like he had caused the phone to stop working? He stowed it back into his pocket just in time to be painfully knocked sideways as something huge suddenly appeared within the cramped pocket from above.
A hand, like the one that had lifted him from the floor. Yew was checking that he was still trapped in here. Her massive fingers prodded uncomfortably at him for a moment before her hand retreated again.
Sitting up, he thought back to everyone who had been back in the courthouse. Franziska, detectives Badd and Gumshoe - they had absolutely no idea of what had happened to him. At best, they might realize his absence and suspect him of taking off alone to pursue Ms. Yew. They wouldn't be incredibly far from correct with such a guess, he supposed.
The taxi pulled up beside the Gatewater Hotel, and Calisto (she would be delighted to finally retire that name) paid the fare without a work of chitchat. Exiting the cab, she confidently headed straight for the hotel's entrance. Making this reservation earlier today was a little bit of a risk, but nothing her smuggling ring allies couldn't deal with. She would have no trouble at all laying low here for a short while.
Once she had reached her room, it was time to get a certain little friend of hers up to speed on how his life would be changing from today on. She'd barely been able to keep herself from toying with him while he was in her pocket on the ride over. Looking suspicious in front of even a random cab driver just wasn't worth it, and there would be plenty of time to enjoy herself with her new catch once they were alone in a cushy hotel room. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
