Meeting the Snow Fairy

You sighed, turning around in your bed. It had been a rough week a work, but you now had a few days off, which was good. Although you were having difficulty sleeping.

A strange noise was the thing that got you up out of bed. It seemed to be coming from outside, so you pulled back the blind just slightly to get a look at outside without letting anyone look at you.

Your eyes widened. Standing in your backyard was a tortoiseshell cat that was meowing softly to itself. You had no idea how the cat got in your backyard, but it looked friendly enough.

You opened the window and pulled back the fly-screen door, rearing your head out. Something cold touched the tip of your nose. A snowflake! It was snowing!

Quite weird, considering it never snowed where you lived, but even weirder was the fact that none of the snow seemed to be melting. You didn't need to have ever seen or felt snow before to know that it should have been melting.

You'd been shrunken down, grew your own wings, and whisked off all over the world in search for Ruby. Eventually, you were able to rescue her by outsmarting some goblins, and you said that if the fairies ever needed help, that they could come to you.

"Sorry to wake you…" the fairy apologized, walking over to your thumb and giving it a friendly squeeze.

"No worries. I was having trouble getting to sleep anyway, and it's great to hear from you fairies again." You smiled, once again talking softly to the tiny winged girl. "What's your name?" You asked.

"I'm Crystal the Snow Fairy." She introduced.

"Pretty name for a pretty lady." You said, causing Crystal to blush. "Anyway, what brings you here, Crystal?"

"My friends and I are in desperate need of your help. Queen Titania said that if we ever needed assistance that we could call on you."

"Of course." You said gently, watching the fairy continue to stroke your thumb.

Crystal's expression darkened. "Well… Jack Frost has…
