Roy hid outside his apartment. So far, he hadn't seen the goth girl leave. What was she waiting for? She was probably going to be late at this point. Roy thought about it. If she now believed she was him that meant she probably knew fully about the remote. Maybe she was testing it out. But wait, if she thought she was Roy and used the device, she'd STILL think she was Roy in a new body. That meant there could be three people running around who think they are him! And, in fact, every swap would just continue to create another Roy.
But then, shouldn't the goth girl notice the first swap? If she remembers the device, surely she must remember using the device, right? If she swapped with a third person, would Roy even be able to notice? What if she swapped back with him right now without his knowledge? It was enough to give him a headache.
As these thoughts raced through his head, he heard the door open. He saw the device in her hand, but there was no way for Roy to get it now. She'd have to store it in her locker at work, and luckily Roy knew the combination.
It was about 15 minutes away on foot. By the time he got there, the goth girl was already handling his duties behind the register. He slipped into the Employees Only area and opened the locker. Luckily, the gun was inside.
