Dr. Kai would happily recognise that he mastered only a small fraction of human magic; but he literally had zero knowledge of monster boy magic! The prospect of learning more about those dark and forbidden arts had him immediately enthralled. Completely forgetting his mission, Kai happily wandered off into the sea of magical stalls.
One merchant in particular caught his attention. It was a tall, red-skinned lizardman, whose hissing voice stood out from the rest of the yelling salesmen: "Ringssss of Tracking! Orbssss of Confusion! Chainssss of Sssubmission! Unleash your true foot ssscent with our patented Troll Ssspice perfume... fine Landrakkian craftssssmanship! Quality productsss at affordable pricesss..."
Landrakkian? Could it be true?! Kai pushed his way through the crowd, an easy task when he disguised as an orc, and arrived at the lizardman's stall. He looked at the elegant, horned figure before him, and he could barely believe what he was seeing: a true, breathing landrake! He had only heard of the dragon-human hybrid in legends, he had never presumed them to be real! A humanoid creature combining the inborn magical skills of a drake with the shrewd industriousness of mankind...
"What an honour, sir!" Kai mumbled to the merchant, vigorously shaking his hand, clearly not realising how strange his behaviour was for a supposed monster boy.
"T-thank you, my dear gentleman..." the landrake muttered in response, trying to be polite. "Feel free to browse my waressss..."
Dr. Kai's gaze was suddenly torn from the biological miracle before him, and to a table which was filled with most various and wonderful trinkets he had ever seen. Simple pieces of jewellery and orbs, clearly imbued with powerful dragon enchantments, and complex machines whose function he could only guess was to help destroy human minds and bind them to the will of their new masters... books, potions, weapons... it was hard to pick one mysterious item to bring home. Because, of course, it was only fair he bought something to support such an endangered species...
