You also can't deny the thought of being stuck under a monster boy's foot was somewhat exciting.
Your old friend Taiyo has been practising his healing and purifying magic, having him around to clear your thoughts now and then would make you feel much more secure.
You approach his house and explain your quest to him.
Taiyo sighs "Come on man, legendary knights and infamous assasins have tried to take the monster king's head. What makes you think a pair of boys from some small village can take him down?"
He has a point. You know he does. You've never made yourself any illusions. You know that even getting to the monster king is near impossible but even knowing that...
"I just can't stand by and do nothing! Aren't you tired of just living our lives, wondering when a pair of smelly feet will crush our will! I'm at least gonna try and fight!"
He sighs again but it's followed by a smile "Fine, I know that nothing I say will change your mind."
The next morning the two of you get on your way.
As you follow the road to the nearest city you and Taiyo chat a bit about your childhood days.
His cheery personality reminds you why he was your first crush.
The two of you were very close and it seems this quest is the perfect way to get closer.
