This choice: Haru goes outside to look for Akira, unwittingly abandoning him. • Go Back... Seeing no new messages from Akira, Haru looked around. "Perhaps he stepped outside for something," she mused to herself. Akira, meanwhile, was still at her feet, yelling as loud as he could and waving his arms.
"HARU! HARU I'M RIGHT HERE! LOOK DOWN!"
Haru didn't look down, nor did she seem to hear or notice him in any way. Instead, she took a step towards the door, the foot that crushed Akira's phone now accidentally bowling him over.
"HARUUUAAARRGH!"
Bouncing across the linoleum floor and rolling a few times, Akira came to a stop flat on his back, his body battered and bruised, his school uniform torn, and his fake glasses long since fallen from his face and presumably gone the way of his phone, destroyed beyond recognition by the oblivious heiress. Said oblivious heiress walked directly over Akira, narrowly avoiding crushing him a third time and giving him a view beneath her skirt that he was far too dazed and terrified to contemplate. By the time Akira recovered and got back to his feet, Haru was already almost at the exit, her long strides helping her move impossibly fast from Akira's diminished perspective.
"HARU! HARU, COME BACK!" Akira called, running after his looming friend as quickly as he could manage, but it was no use. Haru opened the door and stepped beyond it, leaving the cafe.
Akira slumped down on the floor in defeat. His best chance at getting help had just left after nearly killing him three times and not even noticing. Maybe Haru would be back soon, maybe she wouldn't- Akira didn't like the idea of her wandering Tokyo's infamous red light district by herself- but either way, Akira needed to come up with a plan.
Takemi's medicine did this to me, Akira mused. It's the most likely explanation. That means she's the most likely person that can change me back. But she's all the way back in Yogen-Jaya. There's no way I'll be able to reach her with help. Hell, at this point, there's no way I'll be able to leave this cafe without help...
The cafe door opened in the distance. Akira's head shot up, hoping that Haru had returned. Unfortunately, the giant figure approaching him wasn't Haru. It was, however, someone very familiar to him... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
