You stand up on the bed and take a few steps toward the desk. It doesn't seem to matter much, since everything is still huge and far away, but it helps to normalize your situation somewhat. After staring at the person seated at the desk for a few seconds, your best guess is that it's a girl. You can't quite tell who it is, but their bob-cut brown hair is distinctly feminine. As you take a few more steps toward the end of the bed, the giant girl reaches a hand out to the side. You're still nowhere near her, but you still freeze briefly in fear. The girl's fingers feel around on the desk for a moment before stumbling upon a box of tissues. Knowing there's nothing else you can do, you continue on your way as the girl plucks a tissue out of the box and brings it to her face. As you arrive at the edge of the bed, the girl takes a deep breath and blows her nose into the tissue. She wipes the soft paper back and forth under her nostrils a few times, and then she finally speaks up.
"Ugh, darn allergies," the girl says, her voice somewhat familiar. You turn your full attention to her in another attempt to figure out who she is. You're in luck: the girl turns slightly toward you to throw her tissue away, and you recognize the glasses and demure facial features.
"Beth!" you say out loud, recognizing your sister's freshman roommate. She clearly doesn't hear you as she tosses her tissue into a nearby waste basket, and then she gently rubs a finger back and forth under her nose before turning back to her desk.
You aren't terribly close with any of Stephanie's friends, but Beth is the only one who's always been nice to you. Maybe she can help you out, but it could be dangerous to even get close to her.
