As Flash Sentry made his way to Twilight Sparkle's house, he couldn't help but wonder why she would ask him to visit her home so abruptly. When Sci-Twi invited Flash to visit her the other day, he noticed how excited she was at the time and decided to just accept her invitation anyway.
When Flash arrived in front of Twilight's house, he knocked on the door expecting her to open for him. Instead, the door opened to reveal the gifted A-student's mother, Twilight Velvet, who informed him that her daughter was currently waiting for him in their backyard shed.
Flash complied as he went into Twilight's backyard, confused as to why she would want them to meet up in there rather than her own house. Flash stopped for a second once he saw some strange flashing, green lights coming from the shed. He was aware of Sci-Twi's love of science, but there was something about this situation that gave him an uneasy feeling.
"Um, Twilight? It's Flash. Are you in there?!" Flash called, knocking on the shed door.
In an instant, Sci-Twi burst through the doors and caused Flash to flinch in surprise as she emerged from the shed with a less-than-friendly appearance. To Flash's shock, Sci-Twi greeted him with a wide smile on her face while dressed like a mad scientist from an old movie. He was speechless seeing her mad scientist-like appearance with her white lab coat, gloves, goggles and writing implements tucked in her hair.
Flash adjusted himself trying to stay calm despite the eerie bright lights and strange sounds coming from behind the gifted A-student. That was when Sci-Twi helped him to loosen up by breaking the silence.
"Aw, Flash. You're here." she said. "Thank you so much for coming."
"Uh..., yeah. Of course, Twilight." Flash replied nervously. "Thanks for inviting me."
"Well, come on in." Twilight then moved out of the way and gestured for Flash to enter the shed, to which he anxiously complied.
As Flash entered the shed, he became confused once he saw how much the inside of it looked more like a mad scientist's laboratory. The computers, the machines, the chalkboard, and everything else in there gave off a very creepy vibe. Flash wasn't sure if he wanted to stay anymore, unfortunately, he ran out of time once Sci-Twi already locked both of them inside.
"Uh, wow, Twilight. This is quite a set up you have here." Flash complemented.
"Yes, my parents were so supportive of my love of science and the pursuit of knowledge that they allowed me to turn our rundown, old shed into my own personal laboratory." Sci-Twi explained. "Now Flash, I'm sure you're wondering why I called you here."
"Kind of. So, what's going on, Twilight? Do you need me to help you with anything?" he asked.
"You might say that. You see, I've been working on a new invention and I need a new test subject." She explained, filling Flash with great worry as it became clear what she had in mind. "Now then, Flash. What do you say we-"
"Actually, Twilight, I just remembered I already made other plans today. I really need to go now. Bye!" Flash was terrified as he tried to make a run for it, but the door was locked with no way for him to escape.
Twilight patted his shoulder, ending his futile escape attempts. "Relax, Flash. It'll be fine. I'm not going to hurt you or anything. I just want you to help me test a little piece of equipment. You have nothing to worry about."
"Look, Twilight. I understand that you love science and all, but I don't think this is something I'd actually enjoy. How about I take you to the mall so we can have lunch and do a little shopping instead? How does that sound?" He suggested, hoping Twilight might be hungry enough to agree.
But, Twilight just folded her arms with an unamused expression as she lightly refused his suggestion. Once she casually patted him on the cheek with her gloved hand, she looked at him with a flirtatious smirk that distracted him long enough for her to drag him in front of a wall in her lab.
"Twilight, please!" Flash pleaded. "I'm sorry, but I really just don't feel comfortable doing this. You understand, right?"
"Calm down, Flash. You have nothing to worry about from this." she said. "Now, before we do anything, I need you to eat this so we can get things started."
Sci-Twi handed Flash a round, light blue tablet with a white stripe in the middle of it. He was pretty hesitant until Twilight gave him a serious look, ensuring him there was no way she'd just let him leave so easily. So, sighing in defeat, Flash took the tablet from Sci-Twi's hand and reluctantly swallowed it. To his relief, the tablet had no awful flavor to it and no strange side effects for him to worry about.
"Heh, that wasn't so bad," Flash remarked. "So, what was that thing for, Twilight?"
"You'll see soon enough." She answered. "Now then, time to start the experiment."
After instructing him to not move from that spot, Twilight walked behind one of her machines and pushed something big over to him. Flash grew even more worried as Twilight brought out what look like a large dome topped with a laser cannon apparatus that had a beam-like nozzle in front of it. She positioned it a few feet in front of the blue-haired guitarist and inputted a few commands into its control panel.
"Uh, Twilight. W-what is that thing?" Flash nervously asked.
"It's my latest invention, Flash. Are you ready to test it with me?" Flash gulped nervously, letting Sci-Twi know how scared he was. "Oh, don't worry, Flash. I assure you it's perfectly safe."
"Are you sure? What does it even do?" he asked. Twilight was about to answer when she remembered something important about her device.
"Actually, I'm really not so sure myself." Sci-Twi replied, much to Flash's dismay. "I've tested it on a few inanimate objects and some smaller creatures like insects and smaller birds, but it doesn't seem to do much to them, so, I decided to see what it could do to humans."
"Twilight, I don't know about this. It doesn't look very safe. Why don't we just forget about this, okay?" Flash said.
"Don't be such a fraidy cat, Flash. Everything's going to be fine. Now, let's get started." Putting her goggles over her eyes, Twilight brought out a remote control that turned her ray gun on.
He gulped anxiously as the ray activated, turning on a few bright lights on it and showing some sparks from its wires. The laser slowly raised itself up and turned at an angle until its nozzle was pointing directly at Flash Sentry.
"Now, just stand still right there, Flash." Twilight instructed. "This won't hurt at all."
As the laser powered up, Flash sweated profusely waiting for his fate. Twilight programmed the commands into her remote control, and before he knew it...
"Here we go!" Sci-Twi shouted. She excitedly pushed a button on the remote and fired the laser.
Flash's eyes widened in shock as the laser fired a blue energy beam directly at him. In a split second, the beam completely enveloped his entire body in a bright blue aura that gave him a slight tingling sensation. He had no idea what it would do to him, so he hoped for the best as Twilight's experiment gave him quite a surprising result.
What happens next?
