"Are you coming?" Holly was getting up the stairs. Alex followed her, holding the size ray.
They both walked down the hall to her room. Although he had been there before it seemed different. The walls were covered with posters, the bed filled with stuffed animals, her small desk a mess and the floor littered with toys. However, the pink shaggy round carpet in the middle of her room was empty. Also her dollhouse looked more accessible, the doll's clothing neatly stacked and the dolls themselves purposefully posed.
"So how does this gun work?"
"Huh?" Alex looked at Holly. She was sitting on her bed, holding his size ray. He looked down at his right hand, it was empty. "Hey! What are you doing?"
"Tell me," the seven year old ignored him and fiddled with the dial.
Though it was against his better judgment he told her how it worked. It was actually quite simple, she'd turn the dial, aim and fire.
"Neat! Can you step to the left?" Holly said still looking down at the device.
"Like this?" he stepped onto the middle of the carpet.
"Perfect!" then she pulled the trigger.
Before the teen could react he was hit with a burst of energy. His body tingled all over then the room seemed to be spinning. Alex should've know this would happen, so he kind of deserved this. Maybe even secretly wished for it. Now that he was actually shrinking it wasn't quite the ride he imagined.
The floor began to stretch, the fluffy pink material at his feet grew taller, his clothes got baggier with every second. Meanwhile, Holly hummed a tune keeping the beam focused on her babysitter.
As she stopped firing Alex already lost a couple of feet. The little girl hopped off her bed and still holding the size ray approached him. She was huge, if he wasn't kept in place by my clothes Alex would have stepped back.
"You shrunk me!" he said, his voice much higher pitched than before.
"Of course you silly billy," she smiled as she looked down on him.
"Not fair!"
