It as a dark night in the Kingdom, and as any of the inhabitants of the land would tell you, the Rat Clan worked best in the shadows of a dark night. One member of this clan was busy preparing herself for her departure. The Baroness Griotte, who assuredly did NOT have anything to do with the mysterious disappearances of the serfs within her Barony, had kept herself up to date with the affairs of the kingdom. Everything from the King falling to the Rot, to his edict which declared foulness and hedonism as laws of the land, to rumors of members of the other clans plotting to take the throne from the corrupted King.
That had given Griotte an idea; She'd take the throne from the king herself! Certainly the Rat Clan would support her, as her success would be their success, and no one from any of the other clans would dare dispute that the rule of anyone not infected by the Rot would be better for all of the Kingdom. Yes, she'd do nicely as Queen Griotte, and she bet that she'd look great in a crown too.
However, she couldn't just run into the Palace and try her hand at taking the throne anytime soon. She'd need to get support, increase her prestige, and get herself some much better equipment for a fight. Griotte rummages around her room, before finding what she had been looking for. Ever since she had gotten the idea to take the throne, she had started taking heed of rumors and quests, and had collected some she thought that she may benefit from doing. "Hmmm... These three will do." Griotte said. There was a Fights Challenge related to some ruler of a village harming trade by pillaging any caravans that went through, then there was some manner of Body Challenge about a traitorous captain who was dealing in slaves, and a Spirit Challenge having to do with finding a Spirit Stone near Rat Clan territory
