Lexi almost steps on what appears to be a toy gun. Looking it over she sees it has a trigger and two buttons with symbols that resemble letters. A G and an S. Probably some kid lost it, too bad it's hers now. She didn't like kids that much even though she has an internship at the daycare. It was the last one available and if she didn't take it she would've to make up the points during the holidays. She's already running late, so she puts the gun in her bag and goes on her way.
"Morning Ursula," Lexi says and puts her bag on the counter.
"Morning? Lexi you're an hour late. Again!," the pudgy woman behind the counter replies.
The twenty year old sighs, she didn't want another preach, "Look I'm sorry okay"
"Sorry won't cut it this time young lady, now you better get to work and give me a reason not to bring this up on your review," Ursula tells her. The woman is in her thirties, but sounds like her own mother.
Still grumpy, Lexi walks into the next room. Ryanne is already busy with the toddlers, she's the other intern and Lexi's nemesis. She's the same age and is and always has been such a do-goodie, always on time and does everything to suck up to Ursula. If Lexi ever got the chance she'd teach her a little lesson.
"Look kids it's Lexi, say hi. She's late a little isn't she?," Ryanne says without looking her colleague in the eyes.
The kids wave at Lexi and she gives them a fake smile. She goes into the next room where there's a few younger kids in playpens. Now she has time to look at that strange gun.
When she takes it out she accidentally hit the trigger. A beam shoots out of the gun and hits...
