Jacqueline didn't want her friends to get the idea that she was going behind their backs. If she participated in a higher grade's science fair, it would be easier for them to accept that she joined out of necessity. "I suppose that if I must be a part of this silly science fair, I'll enter one of the higher grade level's competitions."

"Fine by me", said Scarlet. "There's only a few teams that still need a member, so I'll go ahead and place you with..."
