This choice: Nothing seemed to happen! • Go Back... For all the strange feeling had subjected on her so far, it soon subsided without anything else of note came to pass. Though it did leave her feeling drained and out of breath.
“It’s… alright,” Azura said between pants. “Whatever it was, it seems to be over.”
“Are you sure?” Corrin asked, concerned.
“Yes… I’m sure,” Azura then straightened out.
Corrin didn’t let go of his hold on her however, doubting the songstress’ words. Not until at least her breathing stabilized, after which he finally did so.
“Feeling better?” He still asked.
“Yes, I am,” Azura nodded.
She then glanced back where the Dragon Vein was and frowned.
“It seems the Dragon Veins here are slightly different.”
“Maybe next time I should do it?” Corrin offered.
Azura glanced back, still frowning.
“I’m not sure if it would be a good idea,” she replied. “We could be under attack again, or maybe there’s some long-term consequence we’re not aware of, heralded by those previous symptoms. In that case, having used one already, it would be prudent if I take care of any additional one we come across.”
Now it was Corrin who frowned.
“In that case, would it not be best if we take turns? So we avoid encountering any problems so quickly.”
Azura sighed.
“Perhaps we should discuss this in another time,” she said, glancing now at the bridge. “For now, let’s see what lies on the other side.”
Corrin didn’t look satisfied in her answer, but nodded nonetheless. However, before they could step on the bridge…
“Lord Corrin!”
The sudden voice made them turn back. Heading towards them was a young woman. She had pink hair tied in a ponytail and wearing a mostly black maid dress.
“Ah, Felicia!” Corrin called out to the pink-haired woman.
The girl closed the remaining distance before coming to a stop.
“Oh, good thing I found you, safe and sound!” Felicia said, relieved. “When I saw you two fell, I feared the worst!”
“So you jumped in after us?” Azura asked.
“W-well, it was not like I had any choice!” The maid replied, flustered. “There were still enemies about, and I was left alone. I figured I was good as dead!”
Corrin felt bad at this. Sure, a lot had happened just in the last few minutes, and the whole finding themselves in a strange new world, but he had forgotten that with he and Azura here, it meant Felicia had been left alone to deal with the enemies they were fighting before falling off that cliff.
“At least you’re here now, with us,” Corrin replied, giving out a reassuring smile.
The maid sighed.
“That may be, but now we’re stuck… wherever this is!” Felicia exclaimed.
“Looks like that may be the case,” Azura said.
“It’s alright,” Corrin said. “So long we stick and work together; we might find a way back.”
He then turned back at the bridge.
“For now, it seems we only have one path to follow.”
“Then let’s get going already,” Azura said. “We’ve dawdled here for too long.”
And with that, the now trio proceeded to make their way across the bridge, only able to guess what awaited them in the island on the other side. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
