As the light died down, Janet and the kids saw that the house now felt... cleaner. Looking around, things were no longer falling apart. The lights were on and he house appeared to be relatively new construction. "What on earth..." Janet muttered just before turning back to look at her husband, who simply stood where he had been, book still in hand. "Steve? Are you okay?" She asked, moving towards him as his shirt and slacks became replaced with a slick black robe and cape.
Steve's eyes opened, revealing a green glow similar to what had previously surrounded the book. "Oh yes. I'm quite alright" he said with an evil grin. "But I'm afraid Steve isn't home anymore."
"Honey...? What're you saying?" Janet asked, taking a step back as Steve began flipping through the book in his hands.
"Well, it's actually rather funny. You see, I'm what you mortals would call a warlock. I've been trapped in my book for nearly half a century. your husband here read a spell, setting me free. Now his spirit as been transmuted into energy to repower my magics and I've taken control of his body. Now... what do I do with the three of you?"
