“Those two are so infuriating,” Weiss muttered, walking through the grounds of Beacon to clear her mind and get some peace and quiet.
Weiss Schnee was somewhat of a perfectionist. She had to have top grades, expert fighting abilities, and believed she would easily become a team leader. Reality came crashing down and instead, her partner, fifteen year old Ruby, received that honor. For a long time, Weiss wondered why Ozpin gave Ruby the position instead of her. Over time, it slowly became apparent and Weiss no longer hated her partner. She actually liked her. What she hated was when Ruby and her sister Yang took over the room and made so much noise she couldn’t work on her homework. While it was only Friday and classes ended roughly an hour ago, Weiss liked to get an early start.
She could have gone to the library, but instead decided to take the opportunity to get some fresh air.
“If only she would put half as much effort into her studies as she does her weapon,” Weiss continued to rant. “She could easily become a prime example of what a team leader should be.” Her footsteps faltered when she saw something sparkle in the sunlight. “Are people leaving junk out here? Why can’t they throw stuff away like a proper person?” As she drew nearer, the object became clearer.
It was a remote.
Why is this out here? Weiss thought. What possible reason would someone bring a remote out this far. She reached down and picked it up, briefly noting a folded up piece of paper under it. The remote was unlike any other remote she had seen before. Instead of letters or numbers on the buttons, there were pictures. One looked like a t-shirt, another an arm, a third had a rough outline of a body. The rest of the buttons were designed in similar fashions. Not sure what its use was for, she unfolded the piece of paper and began to read.
Your Guide to the Swapping Remote
“You have got to be kidding me,” Weiss stated at the stupidity of the information before her. “So someone bought this piece of junk and threw it away when they found out it didn’t work? This is something Ruby or that dunce Arc would do.” She spun the remote in one hand while her eyes skimmed the note. “Still, this instructional guide seems to be a little more detailed than a normal prank should be.” Suspicion conflicted with common sense. “I could just test it out for the hell of it. It’s not like it would work.”
