You look through the hole of the cupboard that became the window of your hideout and notice that the lab is empty. With confidence you won't be discovered, you move through the insides of the wall until you can get to the floor of the first floor of Alphys' place that consists on an open space with a fancy computer or screen, a cluttered desk, a garbage can, the cupboards that became your home, and beyond that, the door to the bathroom and the stairs to a second floor that you have never visited. You know you won't be discovered because you haven't seen Alphys, the owner of the lab, in quite a few days.
You walk to the usual places you hunt for food, the garbage can, around the desk and around the fridge, but sigh when you realize you don't have any provisions readily accesible to you with the giant yellow reptilian monster gone. From what you could tell about her, she was one of those introverted scientists that spent most of the time in front of the computer either working or watching those curious shows and seemed to forgot about nearly anything else, which meant when she was around you could easily scavenge for the remains of a cup of noodles, or in the worst case scenario stuff that you were pretty sure was dog food but as bad as it tasted it could keep you nourished. But on the rare cases she was nowhere to be seen things could be tougher for you.
The problem is that this is the first time she has been gone for so long. Usually the giant monster would be gone only for a couple of days when leaving the lab, or for most of the day when she either took a day off upstairs (although one day you could swear you saw her not going stairs but spending the whole day in the bathroom which was strange) but it has been almost a week and there was no sign of her!
You pace around the slightly dirty lab, looking up at that giant screen she had at the entrance that would be impossible for someone of your size to handle. You wonder what would be the safest option to get food, because even if there was something in the fridge opening it would be impossible too. Maybe you should try searching upstairs? Leaving the lab was the other option and it felt so dangerous.. While you were thinking a noise made you lose your balance and quickly take cover running to the wall, but once it passed you realize there was something strange, you could swear the noise came from below you which didn't make any sense.. maybe there was something underground that you could check too?
Your stomach made a noise to remind you the time to make a decision was now.
