John was confused. Was this saying what he thought it was saying? John was a classic guy’s guy. He didn’t care about fashion, much less cheerleading. And what did they mean by that female floor and wardrobe?
He leaned back in his seat and called over an attendant. The young lady smiled and walked over, she leaned in to read the computer and was just as taken aback as John.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “I need to call my supervisor. This is above my pay grade.”
A few minutes later a middle-aged man came walking through the computer area and found John and the attendant.
“My name is Michael Jenkins. I supervise the freshman tests for the revolutionary education system we use here at TGU. What seems to be the problem?”
John motioned over to the results. Michael took a long look before turning back to John.
“I don’t know what’s wrong. It seemed to register you as female not male. Try taking the test again.”
John restarted the computer, and it asked again for his fingerprint.
STUDENT ALREADY REGISTERED: MS JOHN HARPER
“Well this is odd,” said Michael, “it appears you are locked into this system as female.”
“Is there anyway to change it?” Begged John.
“Not that I know of. We can appeal to the creator of the system but that could take weeks. I’d recommend you get to your new dorm, John. You can use your thumb to enter the correct buildings for now.
