Once Jack got home from school, he went straight to the kitchen, where he saw his mom preparing dinner. "Hey Mom, can I talk to you about something?". "Sure, honey. Just let me finish up real quick and I'll be with you". Once Carey finished doing her task, she took a seat at the kitchen table and motioned Jack to come join her. "What's going on?". Jack was fidgety. "So you know that shrink ray I got for extra credit? Well, when I was making up work after class, it somehow was switched on and I wondered around real small for a little while," Jack bluffed. Carey gasped. "Are you okay? Are there any bruises? Did you break anything?". Carey was about to get up to inspect her son for damages when he told her to calm down. "It's okay, Mom, I'm fine. The main thing I'm concerned about is that once I grew back to normal, these two girls saw the transformation and now I think they want to have some fun with me". Carey nodded, following along. "I was wondering if you had any advice for what I should do or if you could do something for me to make sure that these girls don't have their way with me if I somehow shrink down again?". Jack's mom thought for a minute before responding.
"Well, what do you think would work? Are you looking to completely get away from them from here on out? Or do you just want to avoid them momentarily, to try and get them to forget what happened?". Jack shrugged. "I mean, I think it would be pretty rude if I just outright ignored them from here on out, but if that got the job done, then maybe I should do that. But honestly, I would prefer if it was just temporary. I don't think it would be a good look if I completely shunned them". Carey took a moment to think. "Well, as much as I hate to take you out of school, I could bring you with me to work up until the end of the weekend, just to make sure they don't know where to look for you. Or I could send you over to your Aunt's house. Do either of those sound good to you, Jack?".
