Chapter #4
Emma wins ten straight games of Solitaire.
by: Unknown
Emma pumped her fist as she watched the rest of the cards on the screen float into the final stack, confirming she'd finished her tenth straight win of solitaire. "Get in," she mumbled to herself as she clicked the reset button to try for an eleventh. However, she was interrupted as an incessant banging sounded on the office door. Beside her Liz jumped in her chair. She'd had her chin clutched in her palm and had nodded off halfway down the huge stack of paperwork. Emma grinned as she sidestepped her chair and opened the door.
Her face soured as she saw who was outside. Standing there was Gemma, looking as conceited as usual with a sly grin on her face. She'd dressed up for today it seemed; she was wearing a suave denim dress with a hefty buckle fastened around her slim waist as well as stylish platform toe heels that boosted her from Emma's height of 5'4" to an intimidating 5'8. She'd of course loosened the first three buttons of her dress (being the attention-hungry vagrant she was), leaving her bulbous C-cup bosom out on display for Emma and Liz to see. Her face was similarly attractive as always, slender yet rounded round the sides and framed on each side by the straight, blonde hair that cascaded just over her shoulders.
"Well," Gemma said, "Aren't you going to welcome me in?"
Emma rolled her eyes as she opened the door wider for Gemma to enter. Liz rocked up in her seat as Gemma's heels clacked inside, her head swivelling round the cramped office with an undisguised disgust. Emma gritted her teeth as Gemma rounded the main desk and slumped inside Emma's chair, crossing her legs femininely as she twiddled with the carefully calibrated height Emma had set it to.
"Hope you two aren't just lounging around in here, money doesn't just make itself."
Emma groaned. "What do you want, Gemma?"
Gemma smiled once more before she shrugged nonchalantly. "Sorry," she replied, "but that conversation is a little more complicated than just a simple chat between the three of us. Would you mind assembling the rest of the staff quickly for a meeting in one of the conference rooms?"
"What for?" Liz blurted.
Gemma's smile dropped as she sent a menacing glare Liz's way. The distaste in her voice was clear as she spat, "I'm not at liberty to discuss that with you, Elizabeth. Just know that I, and corporate, would be very grateful if you did so. So chop chop, rally your troops and whatnot. In the meantime I'm going to prepare the conference room for us all. 'Kay?"
And with that Gemma lifted herself out of Emma's seat and walked out as quickly as she came in. Liz grunted as Gemma barged past her on her way out. It took all her willpower to hold her tongue even as the door shut behind Gemma. "Mangy b*tch," she mumbled as she pressed the button on the intercom.
