Aware

Reality has been altered! Enjoy!
Cinder had just enough time to utter "What?" another time before reality itself had apparently been altered someway. She wasn't even sure what had been changed.
...What was she doing? Was she actually going along with this? She began to smirk as she placed her scroll down and laid down onto the bed. It was just as pointless as she expected and now she can move on with...
She had been looking through files just now, as part of a very important mission to infiltrate Beacon's defenses. Why was she laying on the bed and acting so relaxed, like she had no care in the world? If Emerald or Mercury saw her just kicking back, they'd-
"Hey, Cinder!" Emerald called, as she and Mercury came into the room, "We're back."
Cinder bolted back up to a more domineering and in-control position, although that may have made her look more pathetic.
Regardless, she tried to play it cool.
"Wonderful," she smirked as she put on her smooth voice, "what were you able to find out about the other students?"
After all, they had left to find out any noticeable weaknesses, both physical and psychological, that they can use against the students. Mercury had already found out Pyrrah's polarity semblance, so it seemed good to let the two get as much info as possible.
"Still trying to know what we're competing against, Cinder?" Emerald asked as she plopped herself down next to Cinder on the bed, much to the latter's aghast and confused look, "That's why you're Team Leader. You calculate and plan ahead. You take this all seriously."
"She takes it too seriously," Mercury interjected, sitting himself on a different bed, "It's meant to just be a friendly competition for the schools. This isn't a war we're fighting."
Emerald snapped back at the boy, "Just because you don't appreciate the opportunity to represent our academy doesn't mean that it's wrong. Maybe Cinder wants to show the world who she is and make a certain someone proud. Right, Cinder?"
.
.
.
"I don't know what we're talking about anymore," Cinder stammered before she could stop herself. Any attempt she made to maintain her powerful demeanor had completely vanished. All Emerald and Mercury were seeing was a confused and worried girl.
