"Okay, they should be here tomorrow. So you don't need to 'stand guard' for too long," you say after hanging up the phone.
"Hmph. A shame. This first task seemed like an easy one. I had hoped I could indulge in it longer," Zea says arrogantly.
"You sound like you have experience staying in one place for a long time."
"Well, how else would I get a royal portrait done?"
"By...taking a photo first and painting that?"
"Ugh! How dare you suggest such a disrespectful idea!"
You rolled your eyes. "Well, just make sure nobody weird goes through the door and uh... I guess answer it for anyone who knocks."
"Should that not be the maid- oh, right. Very well."
"Good." You checked the time. "Well, I got to do some errands. I'll be back in an hour."
"I shall await your return."
After you got dressed and got your things, you left the apartment. After closing the door you took in a breath of the fresh polluted city air. As you walked down the long balcony to the stairs, you started to realize that you didn't need to run any errands. You were just eating your microwave dinner before going to bed. Once you reached the stairs, you realized that the real reason you left was to gain space to process everything that was happening. Which was understandable, you were just greeted by a literal dragon empress who was now acting as your maid. You needed a good walk in the night to think about things.
