Chapter #5

Abducted by the Ghost Girl

    by: Ponymon Author IconMail Icon
To your surprise, you woke up feeling well rested. Ever since you joined the academy, you never felt like this after waking up. You always woke up feeling at least a little tired, probably nerves from your unique situation. But waking up today, you felt awesome! That feeling wouldn’t last long when you opened your eye’s.

It was still dark outside. You tried to check your phone to see what time it was, but it was dead. Which was weird, because you were pretty sure you charged it last night. But… it was still dark like night, so how long had actually passed? Did you accidentally sleep through the whole day? No, there’s no way that would happen.

Suddenly, you remembered that you actually had the “ghost girl” stay with you last night. Apparently, her name was Acerola and you let her sleep in your place. She didn’t seem like a ghost, but she was definitely strange. Regardless, you should probably take her to principal Cynthia as soon as you can. After checking on Acerola, you’d do that as soon as the sun came up.

“Hey, Acerola! Are you still here?” You called as you rose from your couch. “You didn’t run off did you?”

You expected to get some kind of sleepy or playful response. Just another simple “nope”, but you didn’t get a reply. When you looked over at your bed, you saw that Acerola wasn’t there! Hoping it was a trick of the dark, you walked next to your bed to maybe find signs of her. But there was none! It was like she had disappeared!

“Was she… really a ghost?” You wondered, skeptical but creeped out.

Just to be sure, you moved to your door to go outside and look around for her. Except, when you tried to open the door, you realized that it wouldn’t open! And it wasn’t just locked, it didn’t budge a bit! You couldn’t feel anything to unlock it, and when you pushed your entire body against it, there was no reaction. You were trapped!

Worried and a little scared, you hurried over to the one window your shed had. And you were very shocked at what you saw. Both you and your shed weren’t on campus anymore! And it was still dark out because you were indoors! You strained your eyes to see outside, desperate to get a look at wherever you had ended up. Slowly, things began to take shape.

At first, you thought you saw some cliffs in the distance, ones that were almost identical to the one your shed was currently on. But then you realized that they weren’t cliffs, they were shelves! At least you thought they were shelves, but they must be too big for that. You leaned forward for a better look and-

“Rawr!”

Without any warning, the familiar face of Acerola suddenly jumped into your field of vision. Except now she was gigantic… and loud! You stumbled backwards in shock, shouting in terror at the same time. You stumbled back so hard that you tripped over your feet and nearly flipped over backwards. As you groaned and layed on the floor, all you heard was Acerola’s cute giggling.

“I really scared you huh?” She laughed. “That was fun!”

Scrambling to your feet, too concerned about your new size to be embarrassed that you go scared so badly, you rush to the window. “Acerola! Wh-what happened!?”

“Simple. I crouched down like this.” Acerola crouched slightly, “And then I jumped back up and scared you.” She giggled.

“That’s not what I mean! Where am I!? And why am I so small!?”

“We’re at my place, and you’re small because I shrunk you.”

“That doesn’t explain anything!” You protested. “How did you shrink me?”

Acerola shrugged.

“What does that mean?”

“I don’t know how I shrunk you.”

“Obviously you do, since you were the one to shrink me. You must have an idea at least.”

“Nope!” Your apparent captor answered cheerfully. “I have no idea how, I just know that I did.”

“That doesn’t make any sense.” You uttered in disbelief. “Tell me how you think you did this.”

The giantess smiled at you playfully. “I don’t know. I just thought ‘I want to shrink him and take him home’ and then you and your little house were shrunk. So I brought you both here!”

“…Is this some kind of ghost power? Is this how you haunt people?” You desperately tried to use the ghost girl rumor as the reason for your shrinking.

“I don’t know. Maybe!” Was the cheerful reply.

You sighed deeply. As much as you wanted answers, there was other stuff you needed to address. “Okay then, where are we exactly? And don’t just say ‘my home’.”

“Hmm. That’s all it really is.” Acerola sounded confused. “But it’s kind of like a market? No, a supermarket! One of those stores that has all kinds of things in it!”

So those were shelves you saw in the distance! And that means you and your shed were currently on one too. “You live in this place?” You asked, sounding a little sad. “Or do you haunt it?” You were starting to think Acerola actually was a ghost.

“I don’t know if I’m haunting this place, but I do live here! Since I’m so scary to you, maybe I am haunting this place. Boo!” Acerola laughed.

“You aren’t scary, you just… surprised me is all. Surprised me really badly.” You mumbled.

“Oh, alright!” Acerola seemed full of energy. “Anyways, welcome to my home! How do you like it?”

“I can’t see anything, it’s too dark.”

“Aw, really? How’s this?” As soon as she asked that question, there was a click and a light suddenly turned on from below, illuminating her face. Was that…?

“Is that a flashlight?”

“Yep! I bet I look even spookier shining this on my face, huh?”

You didn't want to admit it, but even at her new giant size, Acerola was still cute. She moved the flashlight around, illuminating parts of the building for you. It was definitely a supermarket, and a pretty old one from the looks of it. You partly felt bad for her, but she also somehow shrunk you and your shed and brought you here without noticing. That just screamed that she was a ghost, or something else supernatural.

"Pretty cool huh? You're the first person who I brought here!"

"The first person? Have you tried to bring other people here too?"

"Oh yeah, lots! But it didn't work out, I always dropped them after they shrunk and accidentally stepped on 'em." She said, sounding disappointed.

"W-wait, really!?"

"Nope!" Acerola laughed. "I was just kidding. I've wanted to shrink people before, mostly from that place you live near but it didn't work before you. I still met some nice people, but I wonder if I could shrink more people and bring them here too?" She brought her hands to her cheeks and smiled in embarrassment. "To be honest, I want to bring everyone from that school here, just like you! I can keep you all and we can play as much as we want!"

Okay, the way she said that was cute, but that could be really bad! Whether she was a ghost or not, Acerola apparently had the ability to shrink people and didn't understand how it worked. And she lived in some abandoned supermarket that you never even heard a rumor about before. So, not only were you trapped, but everyone else in school could possibly be shrunk and stuck here too! You had to talk Acerola out of this.

"Hey, Acerola, do you really think that's-"

"Oh! Sorry, I forgot, I have to go out today." The giant girl happily tapped her head with her finger. "I'm so silly. But don't worry, we can play when I get back! Maybe we'll have another friend to play with. Bye!"

Before you could protest, your kidnapper walked out of sight and disappeared. All you could do was wait for her to come back...
