So which of these characters' stories will you follow?
Arthenia -- A scholar, philosopher, naturalist and magae, your family moved from Alexandria, Egypt, to Rome, and you currently tutor young women of station
Izavel -- (Inspired by the Grimm episode "Last Grimm Standing") -- A descendant of captives brought to Rome after the fall of Carthage, some of your ancestors were Lowen. The Lowen are a race that look remarkably human, save they are faster and stronger than normal humans. The Lowen can also transform themselves for a short time into feline humanoids, where they are nigh unstoppable. You have enough Lowen blood to make this transformation, though afterwards, like all Lowen, you are mentally and physically exhausted.
You have been a favorite in the Coliseum, and have recently won your freedom. Now you are considering what to do with your life.
Kanyatvaṁ --- Born the eldest daughter of a client king to Rome, whose kingdom lies in Asia Minor on the eastern Roman border, you were raised in the warrior tradition. At age eighteen, your father, at the "suggestion" of the local Roman military governor, shipped you off to Rome to marry a wealthy, elderly Senator. But as Fortuna would have it, you became a widow even before your marriage could be consummated. You are now a woman with wealth and no responsibility.
Gaina -- A priestess of Diana, you serve in a small temple on the outskirts of Juliobona. Like the goddess you serve, you are skilled in the hunt. Recently, the temple of Diana in Rome has demanded that representatives from northern Europe present themselves in Rome. There is a fear that druidic practices have "creeped in" to the worship of Diana in the northern Empire. When you arrived in Rome, the leadership of the largest temple to Diana was in turmoil, due to the unexpected death of the chief priestess. You now find yourself in Rome without a clear purpose.
Delecta -- The daughter of a very senior Imperial administrative officer (your father holds the title of Magister Officiorum), your childhood gave you all the benefits of being a member of a very wealthy aristocratic family. Your education was both expansive and eclectic. Now a young woman, your father has recruited you for an elite unit of the Imperial courier service. The same service which also serve as the eyes and ears of the Emperor.
