Victoria woke up after the alarm blared at 6:30 am as usual, both pleasantly surprised and slightly annoyed. She was pleasantly surprised because it was one of the best nights of sleep she had in years, and she was annoyed because the alarm interrupted one of the best dreams she ever had.
She felt so well rested and full of energy, free of any of those little niggles she was developing after way too much time working in the cutthroat environment of a tech startup where she was competing to become a CEO after years of sacrifice and hard work. She felt like she could take over the world and that's exactly what she was dreaming about, in her dream she got the prized CEO job and under her leadership she pretty much turned the company into the most important monopoly in the world, crushing anything that resembled a competition and controlling the way humanity moved in the new era propelled by her company's products. In turn, she became rich, famous and increasingly more powerful.
But Victoria couldn't bask in the feeling of such a dream, she had a tight schedule due to her demanding job. She knew it was going to be a good day however, because the positive aura she woke up with didn't immediately left her. She crushed her workout routine with astounding ease and seemed to do every little thing with extra efficiency today, even feeling luck was on her side when the starbucks barista not only rushed to give her the usual order as if entranced by her beauty, but even told her today was on the house.
She wondered if today was the day she could convince the board members that she was the right fit for the CEO position, she needed to show both strong results and the right leadership ability, and even if she was not perceived as the favourite candidate, she was still in the running. Maybe she should approach the board members who were still in the office directly taking full advantage of whatever power was blessing her today, maybe she could focus on sabotaging the competition on just on doing her own job and letting actions speak for themselves. In any case, everything seemed to be telling her today was going to be a great day, so whatever path she took was the right one
