"Hah, 18-10 boys. Come on Izzy, let's finish this off" Katie grinned at the two 14 year old boys she and her friend were playing basketball with. Her friend wasn't as tall as her at 5'5'' but was still a competent enough player to not be a burden, while the boys were a bit smaller at 5'4'' but less developed physically than both girls, a fact Katie just loved it.
With her 5'7'' height she was the second tallest person in the class, and after putting the taller lanky male classmate in his place she also took a place as the strongest. And Katie loved lording it over the boys, boys that would probably grow up to be taller or stronger than her but that for now were bested by her strength and skills.
Even if she could recognize the boys were getting better at playing as they managed to pass the ball around Izzy's defence it didn't matter, she could still destroy them. She made sure of that with a quick reaction to block the path for a free shot one of the boys had and force an awkward pass instead. She was fiercely competitive, confident in her abilities and could smell blood, aware the hapless boys both feared and respected her, as they should.
"What was that Izzy?" Katie barked as her friend was dribbled past and the score became 18-12
"Calm down Kat, we got this" her friend said and Katie growled a bit but did calm down. Isabel was her ground pole after all, someone she treasured too much to be angry at her or to fight like she did with others. While not as assertive as Katie she was emotionally smarter and more level headed, and in a way Katie felt indebted to her when her attitude started to become a problem at school and to make friends. Isabel really went out of her way to keep her in check and make sure her worst traits didn't bite her back.
That didn't mean her anger wasn't satisfied though. When the game restarted she just shoulder barged the poor boy that had the ball hard, making him fall to the floor as she recovered the ball and finished the game.
"YES! we win again" Katie celebrated another show of her physical superiority
"That's foul"
"You can't do that" the boys complained
"What? we're just girls, you were just weak" Isabel teased
"Don't tell me you're not stronger than that!" Katie laughed joining the teasing. She knew she was stronger, and she loved to show the boys who were taught that girls were weaker a reality check.
"Fine, whatever" one of the boys said, giving up in reasoning with her because she knew it was useless and because well, Katie was hot after all. Even if she was an arrogant brat she was popular, smart, athletic and sexy, and for him it was as much of a challenge to win against her in basketball than to get to date her.
"You know it was a foul though" A voice interrupted and Katie didn't take long to react
"Shut up Tom, mind your own business" Katie said angrily. Just as she loved being physically superior to boys her age, she hated being almost a head smaller than her big brother. No matter how much Isabel helped her get him into trouble, no matter how she took full advantage of being the little sister to make sure her parents took her side, the fact was Thomas was just well, bigger.
"You know I'm telling the truth, sis" Thomas said
"It was a slight push! right guys?" Isabel asked to the other players, of course Isabel took her side and nodded, but what she hoped was the boys wouldn't admit it was a foul in front of another man like Thomas.
"Yeah I guess," they said and Isabel smirked, but Thomas was unimpressed. He was a teenager too, he knew why they were agreeing.
"I know what I saw, want an actual challenge?" Thomas asked "you and your friend vs me."
"What are you doing here anyway?"
"I might be grounded but I can still take a walk to the park" Thomas chuckled "So, what do you say?" he smirked and Katie understood what he wanted now. The reason he was grounded was because of her, so he wanted to embarass her in front of her friends as payback. But then again, she wasn't the type to back down from a challenge..
