Granted, it was his first day of college and it would be wise to save the excitement for when he and all of his classes were adjusted to normal, but Jack couldn't resist the temptation and brought his shrink ray with him to his third class, this class being an introductory class on physics. When Jack arrived at his classroom, it was a great lecture hall, with at least 200 seats inside of it. As Jack scoped out a good seat, he noticed that there were already probably around fifty or so students already in the hall and in seats. Continuing with his taking things slow mentality, Jack chose a seat in a row that was free of people and sat there. This seat was in the middle of three sections of seats, about three-quarters of the way up the flights of seats.
Not long after choosing his seat, a barrage of more students flooded into the lecture hall and dispersed around the seats. A group of three, two girls and a boy, sat in front of Jack, while two girls sat behind him. When all was said and done, the row in front of Jack was full, as was the row behind him, but his row was empty, other than a girl two seats to his right and another girl one seat to his left. Letting his mind run amok, Jack thought about how pretty they were. Getting at least one of their numbers quickly become a priority for him, and his focus ran away from the class for a few moments.
By the time Jack came back to reality, the class had begun and the professor was a little ways into her presentation of the class and of the syllabus. Jack quickly brought his laptop out, but paused when he saw the shrink ray in the bottom of his backpack. He looked back at the professor, just in time to hear her say: "Now, this is all important information to keep written down, so I highly recommend you do so now, but it will be available online in our classroom board". That was motivation enough for Jack to place his laptop back in his backpack and grab the shrink ray. Looking around him, Jack observed that the other students were vigorously writing notes and were oblivious to him and his actions.
