It was almost in slow motion as the sole started descending like a meteorite, covering the entire sky in the process, with Derek frozen in fear as he saw the closest exit from under the shoe's shadow to be almost a hundred meters away - very much not the kind of distance he could cross before Dan finished his step.
Derek simply closed his eyes, not having time to do any other action, as the immense shoe finally fell upon him. His body put no resistance before being crushed, the hard surface of the sole making supporting the huge weight and pressure applied by Dan's step impossible, reducing the speck to only a red splotch.
Dan, for his part, just continued to walk like normal, not being able to feel the insignificant person dying under his foot, his stride not even breaking as he kept playing with his bubblegum. "Alone with a bunch of kids... eh, at least no one will force me to actually look for them" reasoned the athletic teen as he simply walked to the kitchen for more free food to eat.
