As Jaune began to walk back to Beacon, something happened.
Echoes of words began to ring in his ear, like the thoughts in the back of his mind grow louder. Jaune grabbed his head and held it for a moment, the throbbing getting worse as it felt like his head was going to explode. It was hard to walk and he staggered for a moment before the pain vanished almost instantly. Jaune stopped and rubbed his watery eyes as he tried to process what had happened. It was then that the information passed through his mind.
It sounded like his own voice saying these things that couldn’t be real.
‘I have the power of mind control. As long as I maintain eye contact with someone, I can manipulate how they think. They will absolutely believe what they are told is the truth. No matter what changes are made to a person's mind they will act on those changes without thinking anything is out of the ordinary. But it only works on one person at a time. Do not attempt to try to hypnotize multiple people at once. Once you break eye contact, they will snap out of it after a few seconds.'
Jaune shook his head.
“What am I thinking? Am I stupid?” The boy chuckled to himself.
There was no way that was true. It couldn’t be. Even if he had a cool Semblance, they were supposed to reflect the person. Why would he have a mind control Semblance? If the rock was responsible, it was even less likely to be true. How could a rock give someone powers? Jaune started to walk again, thinking he was going insane, but his mind kept thinking about the words in his mind. Like it wouldn’t let him go.
If it was true…
He could finally show up people at Beacon. No longer would he be the laughing stock of the class. People would respect him (Or at least be made to.) He could have his dream girl, Weiss. He could have any girl he wanted, actually. Jaune was a teenage boy and there were things he thought of. Most of the girls at Beacon he’s had an erotic dream of at least once.
“Maybe I should try it once? Just to see what would happen?” Jaune was muttering to himself, as if to convince himself he should do it. “Ugh, fine. Weirder things have happened on Remnant. Probably.” It wouldn’t hurt. He could make eye contact with someone and see if they went into a trace. If they didn’t, well Jaune wasn’t going to make a fool of himself too many times that week.
