Not all of United Humanity's encounters with aliens are with empires spanning huge swaths of the galaxy. Some are smaller political entities, encompassing just a handful of star systems. These smaller alien governments can not be ignored, however. United Humanity needs all the allies it can get, big and small. At the very least, Humanity needs to know that it doesn't have to worry about a knife in the back while it deals with its larger foes.
So, what alien race will Anastasia be a part of a delegation to?
The Dingnagian Collective --- The Dingnags are a humanoid race of huge stature (the average adult Dingnag males stands fourteen meters tall, the average adult Dingnag females stands twelve meters tall). They are remarkably human in appearance. Despite their size, Dingnags are a generally docile people. They control five star systems and, despite their socialist self-designation, have a government that is reminiscent of the early Roman Republic.
The Laskar Triumvirate --- The Laskars are a white-furred, human sized species who looked to be a cross between an ermine and a squid. They are semi-telepathic and are ruled by a representative democracy. They control three star systems, with the leader of each system being the head of their executive branch.
Nymberian Khanate --- Nymberians are anthropomorphic dire wolves. Adult males stand two meters tall, adult females one and three quarters meters tall. The chief political unit in the seven star systems is the clan, with the head of the Khanate being selected from among the clan chiefs. Clan chiefs are usually, but not always, male.
Elerian Assembly --- The Elerian Assembly spans five star systems and has a militaristic, matriarchal government whose chief executive holds the title of Chief Marshall. The Elerians are the same size as humans and, save for their blue complexions, are human in appearance. Only females may enter the Warrior caste and lead the Elerian people. The men belong to a Philosopher caste that forms the support and scientific prowess of the empire. In a quirk of genetics, all Elerian women are telekinetic while all men are telepathic to varying degrees.
