Alex gulped as he heard the girl's words and soon the sound of their conversation. Sydney Redwood was a well-known name in the town, at first, she was just a small business owner until the BNWO was established and she was given a whole shopping, becoming one of the richest people in the region. Of course, with all that money, also came a lot of slaves...
Any person knew that there were hordes of white slaves working for Sydney, both in her shopping or in her houses, and most of them didn't last in the job for too much. Thanks to that reputation, only her name was enough to make Alex shiver.
Soon, the sound of their conversation entered the kitchen, and both the black woman and the white boy looked at each other. There was a moment of awkward silence while they both looked deep into each other's eyes until Tamika decided to speak:
"Hey... auntie, do you know Alex, right?" She walked to the boy and placed her hand on his shoulder, "He was my brother's best friend and, when the BNWO started, my father thought it would be a good idea to buy him. Cool, right?"
"Hm", Sydney snorted, "So he is a slave, right?"
"Well... My father doesn't like that word very much. He says that the BNWO isn't the right way to go and that people should be free and shit, so he is more of a family... pet!"
"A pet..." Sydney stepped to him and squeezed his checks, "Normally, people brought cute pets, not blonde pigs like this!"
Alex's eyes avoided to met her face as they kept turning around, looking at the kitchen instead. When he felt her strong fingers letting go of his face, he tried to step out of the chair, but Tamika grabbed his arm.
"Where do you think you are going, blonde pig?" Tamika giggled, "My aunt here is talking to you!"
